Please note particularly that students from EU/EEA and some other countries do not need a residence permit if they intend to stay in Norway for less than three months, but students must apply for a visa if he/she comes from a country with a visa requirement for entering Norway.
We would therefore advice all our foreign students to check up valid regulations and requirements for their country at the web site of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI)

- Students from EU/EEA countries staying less than 3 months, do not need a residence permit
- Students from EU/EEA countries staying over for more than 3 months, can register for student resident permit online.
