The American ambassador Benson K. Whitney visited AAUC at February 12th, and held an inspiring lecture for a full auditorium. He informed about exchange opportunities in the US and the value of going abroad. The ambassador was pleased with the visit and impressed by the work performed at the AAUC.
Many opportunities
“USA has one of the world’s best university systems with high quality study programs in almost every field. The educational system in the US offers a wide range of possibilities, both professionally and socially. As a student at an American university one often get the chance to work directly with the best professionals”, the ambassador said.
Support Services for international students
“Most of the universities have an international student office which helps foreign students to get adjusted to their new environment”, ambassador Whitney said. The assistance offered ranges from giving necessary information and help to get started to following up the student throughout the study period. American universities offer a broad selection of professional, cultural and athletic activities which can give support to the students academically and with getting new friends.
The importance of exchange studies
Ambassador Whitney firmly believes that experience from abroad is important. “Exchange studies can help building your long-term career and give you experience which develops confidence, independence and multicultural knowledge”, he said. Whitney is pleased with AAUC’s exchange possibilities in both San Diego and Boston, and in time he hopes these will expand.
