Opening of the "Human Factor Lab"
Resarch on the human factor in maritime operations is done at the University College, and December 7th a unique laboratory was officially opened.
Advanced maritime operations is demanding for ship, equipment and crew. The industry has invested al lot in developing new technology, but little research have been done on the human factor in maritime operations.
To learn more about human factor, the industry have sponsored a professorship for Komandur Sashidaran at Aalesund University College. Wednesday December 7th the ”Maritime Human Factor Lab” was officially opened.
The laboratory is ment for training, and is connected to maritime simulators. The laboratory is a service to the industry, where it`s possible to test new solutions and do training on specifiac operations. The laboratory is also, among other things, important in the process of starting a new master programme in maritime operations at Aalesund University College.
