Programme content
The bachelor programme in Shipping and Logistics offers courses in:

- Maritime Law
- Chartering
- Economics
- Marketing
- Ports and Terminals
- Logistics
- Health, Environment and Safety
- Cultural Awareness
- Transport by sea
The program combines maritime related courses with courses in logistics, economics and business management. The bachelor programme is destined to qualify students for leading positions within shipping companies, transport firms, maritime industry, etc.
During the first year the students receive basic introduction to shipping, economics and logistics as well as courses in mathematics and statistics.
The second year consists of more maritime related courses such as transport by sea, maritime law and introduction to navigation.
In their third year the students are offered courses in logistics, maritime english and chartering.
Students may choose to participate in international students exchanges in their 5th (autumn) semester.
The programme will qualify students to continue their studies at other institutions within the country or abroad.
Job opportunities
The combination of in depth courses in logistics, shipping, economics makes the candidates attractive labour force in private commercial companies within the maritime cluster.
Cooperation with industries
The university college has from the start of its existence cooperated closely with the regional industry especially within the marine and maritime industries. AAUC offers excursions to local industry, guest lecturers from companies visit the university college, and many topics for academic student projects are initiated by nearby business.
