Entry requirements:
General college entrance requirements with additional qualifications in Physics and Mathematics.
Aims and objectives:
The student shall acquire knowledge and skills necessary for solving work assignments related to planning, project description, dimensioning and building construction work both on land and offshore. In addition the course of studies should assist the student in developing attitudes and social skills needed for working in projects made up of persons with differing technical backgrounds. The study should also provide knowledge and attitudes for best using resources for optimal results both in terms of the inner and outer environment during an entire construction project.
Teaching methods:
Lectures, various projects and class exercises.
Work assignments are carried out both individually and in groups
Structure and activities:
Basic natural and social science courses make up 45 credits of which 15 credits are social science courses.
The pedagogical strategy combines tradtional teaching with laboratory exercises and individual projects.
Relevant data equipment is used in all courses.
In the last semester the student completes an individual main project (15 credits) in cooperation with a public body, an organisation or a private company.
