Financial graph

The purpose of the bachelor's programme is to educate user oriented and reflective candidates who are qualified to undertake special advising jobs within business administration in private business, private organisations, or the public sector. The programme focuses on causes and effects of decisions made in private and public organisations. The study gives the student business insight, analytic training, and problem awareness within social and ethical frameworks and knowledge for judging social economic consequences of his/her decisions. The candidates will be qualified for continuing education at the Master degree level both in Norway and abroad.

Teaching methods:

The teaching is based on lectures, group work, and (guided) exercises. Some of the courses also include visits to local companies and guest lectures from local industry.

For some courses there are required submissions and case solutions which may also be presented in the classroom. Most topics will imply the use of ICT tools. Regular working patterns are expected each semester. Students need to observe the dates for required submissions and tests each semester.

Structure and activities:

The programme runs over three years, two terms each year.

Year 1:
The first year programme is identical with the programme in Export Marketing. The students receive a basic introduction to marketing, economics and organisational behaviour, as well as method courses in mathematics and statistics.

Year 2:
The second year offers more advanced courses in methodology and business/economics.
Students must by the 15 April in the second year of the programme choose which courses (i.e. language and/or economics/business administration) they will attend the third year. Students who finish their studies after the second year receive the title: Degree candidate in Business Administration.

Year 3:
The third year offers a specialisation in international marketing, market analysis, and a choice between foreign languages and/or business and marketing related courses. All courses this year are lectured in English.
The students may choose to participate in an international exchange programme during the 5. term (autumn). The sum of the credits after 3 years must be at least 180, and include all the required courses in the programme.
