Aalesund University College no longer offers application to Bachelor's degree programs for self-financing, international applicants. Only the Quota scheme is available for international Bachelor's degree applicants from partner institutions.

All undergraduate programs at Aalesund University College are taught in Norwegian.

The Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (NUCAS), also known as Samordna opptak, coordinates the admission process to undergraduate studies in Norway. 

You must apply through Samordna opptak for undergraduate studies.

  • The application system is primarily for Norwegian citizens and others with a permanent or renewable residence permit. You need a Norwegian ID-number to apply.
  • The application form is available at Samordna opptak 1 February untill 15 April. Applicants with international education has application deadline 1 March.
  • You must meet the minimum entrance requirement for Higher Education Entrance Qualification and document sufficient proficiency in both Norwegian and English language. NOKUT, the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education has a list of general entrance requirements for applicants with an international educational background, referred to as the GSU-list. Information regarding admission requirements for many countries is available at Samordna opptak (in Norwegian only).
  • Please note that some undergraduate programs have additional academic requirements.

Quota Scheme

The Quota Scheme is a scholarship programme offered by the Norwegian Government to students from certain countries in the South, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Aalesund University College only admits students from partner institutions under the Quota Scheme.

Exchange students

There are separate routines, requirements and application form for exchange students who wants to study one or two semesters at Aalesund University College.
