Academic Calendar

The academic year is divided into 2 semesters: autumn and spring.
Each semester has about 15 weeks of tuition and additional time for examinations.

Spring semester 2011:

Semester start/end: 6 January* - 17 June
* The Nursing programme starts 4 January

Regular examination period: 3 May - 3 June
(Resit exams for regular students: Week 23-24)

There is no tuition during the Christmas vacation (22 December - 5 January) and Easter vacation (16 April - 26 April)

Autumn/Fall semester 2011:

Semester start/end: 17 August* - 20 December
* The Nursing programme starts 15 August

Examination period: 24 November - 17 December

Spring semester 2012:

Semester start/end: 9 January* - 15 June
* The Nursing programme starts 5 January

Regular examination period: 7 May - 1 June
(Resit exams for regular students: Week 23-24)

There is no tuition during the Christmas vacation (21 December - 8 January) and Easter vacation (30 March - 11 April)

Important information for exchange students:

Exam dates are decided a few weeks after the beginning of each semester. The last exam may take place earlier than the last day of the examination period, but exchange students might as other students also have exams the last date of the examination period.
Please note that the last exam date for the spring semester for exchange students staying only one semester is 4 June.

Exchange students have the same exams as other students attending the same course.
