The modern laboratory facilities for navigator training at Aalesund University College are well equipped.
In close co-operation with the maritime industry, the equipment is continously updated. A manual, with teoretical descriptions of modern electronic and acoustic systems for navigation, has been developed.
The students are given teoretical and practical insights in operation, serving and maintenance of all modern navigator systems.
The laboratory also contains an advanced simulator with six stations (bridges), suitable for training with radar, electronic maps (ECDIS) and AIS.
